I almost forgot to take a photo of Essie's Bikini So Teeny before I took it off so I took just a quick single photo (sorry no pug model this time). This is the color Essie's summer 2012 collection is named after and it's a fantastic cool bright blue. Essie describes it as a cornflower blue, but it's much cooler, lighter, and neon-y than another cornflower blue polish, Lapis of Luxury. This is with 2 coats, with a base coat and top coat. I had this on for a long weekend and it held up well. I always love Essie polishes because they never chip on me even though I am brutal with my nails. I also got a lot of compliments on this color. I'll definitely be revisiting this polish soon!

Essie's Fear or Desire

This past week I wore Essie's Fear or Desire on my fingernails and while I was reluctant to give this one a try, I loved it!!
I was off from work for some of last week and so I initially wanted to do a blue or green polish since I can never wear those during the weekdays. But I needed to try this out and the bright color did seem summery. Well I am so glad I tried this out because this is my favorite orange polish!
This required at least two polishes for complete coverage. For some reason I'm having cuticle drag issues with the Essie Summer 2012 polishes. Maybe I just got a goopy batch. This is also with base and top coats. I like red orange polishes but sometimes they can seem a bit harsh against my skin tone. Fear or Desire is a muted neon orange (if that even makes any sense). Looks great with a tan and is a perfect pop of color for the summer (makes me think of popsicles)!
Oh and thank you to my lovely pug assistant, Sunny, for helping me to model this polish!

Tuesday Tuni Tribute!

I was very sad to hear recently that Tuni, a tiny rescued pug with a big adorable tongue, crossed the rainbow bridge. In honor of Tuni, her friend Winston asked that we post photos of our pugs in their beds on Tuesday since Tuni was known for her many beds around the house, all of which she loved, and Tuesdays were her posting days. I missed the tribute last week, but I still have an hour left to make it for this Tuesday! So in honor of Tuni and her family, here are some pics of Sunny and her beds.
Even though I only have one pug, she has a lot of beds. I just keep buying new ones and not throwing out old ones! I think the total count now is 7! Sunny will show you all of her beds:
The green mat on the bottom was a lot thinner than I thought it was going to be so I put it underneath one of the first beds I got for Sunny, which turned out to be a super soft and squishy puppy bed. Sunny loves to lay in it during the day because of it's prime location near two windows.
I got this next one through Gilt. The fuzzy side seemed to irritate Sunny's skin so I flipped it over and she goes on it occasionally.
One of her favorite beds is this old, lumpy, and misshapen Snuggie bed. I thought about throwing it out but she loves it so.
There are a couple others that I don't have pictures of and this one below is the most recent one I got. Sunny loves it but she doesn't use the edge as a chin rest like I thought she would, instead she leans over it and against the wall.
I think she also loves it because it's big enough to accommodate all of her "friends."
But of course Sunny's all time favorite is the BIG bed.
There's plenty of room to stretch out.
As soon as I get up Sunny immediately moves into my spot. What a bed hog.
Sunny would've loved to have met Tuni - they would have had epic naps together in all of their beds! So in loving memory of Tuni, we hope you enjoyed these photos of Sunny and her beds.

Essie's All Tied Up

Oh man I've had some polish photos sitting around for a while, waiting for me to post them! Oops! Here's Essie's All Tied Up from its summer 2012 collection. I was a bit confused by this polish because it didn't seem exactly summery. It's a beautiful dusty rose with some gold shimmer, but definitely not my taste. It looked a bit grandmotherly on me. It's also a bit of a pain to remove because of the shimmer, but application was pretty smooth. Two coats, with base and upper coats.
Anyways, here are some photos of the polish with my helpful model, Sunny.

Essie's Cascade Cool

Here are a couple photos I took ages ago of Essie's Cascade Cool, from its summer 2012 collection. It's a beautiful and fun cool pink. Pretty good application. This is two coats, with base and top coats. This was one of my favorites from the collection because I have a hard time finding pink polishes with my skin color. It's a bit Barbie-ish but I think that's part of why I love it!

Sushi Pug

Sunny senses that something is amiss. There's a new pug presence in the home.
Aha it's sushi pug! Sunny would you mind sharing your toys with sushi pug?
Uh oh sushi pug is trying to assert dominance over Sunny!
But Sunny quickly showed sushi pug who's the boss here!
Sushi pug now lays in defeat, covered in Sunny's fur and drool. Sunny's alpha position remains secure and all is right with the world. The champion can now safely rest.
As for the beta position, I suppose sushi pug and I will have to battle it out next...
Summer Sunny Months

I know, I know, long time no post! I keep forgetting to update this blog because I post all my photos now through Instagram onto Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. And really, my blog posts are just vehicles for my photos. But I will try to be better about updating this blog at least a bit more frequently than I have this past summer. So as my first post back in a couple months, here are some photos of Sunny as a welcome back. Warning, there are a lot of pug photos below so if you aren't into that then you can stop reading here. But honestly, if you've been reading my blog then you can't be surprised and must love pugs!
Over the past couple months Sunny and I did a lot of things, but mostly we just napped.

YAWN! All these nap photos are making me sleepy!
Sunny's tongue gets more and more ridiculous. And I love it.
Except when it tries to attack me.
Yes these are two different photos from two different times. Her tongue is just that large and crazy, so this is a regular occurrence. I fear it.
Sunny practiced modeling her side wrinkle, which is currently my favorite wrinkle of hers.
Sunny went all Goldilocks on her beds. This one was too squishy.
This one was too big.
But this one was juuuust riiiiight! Until I moved because I had to pee and my hip was achy.
Sunny got a lot of belly rubs.
And we had a lot of fun times at my parents' house. Mostly because they love her and feed her a ton of treats.

Sunny "helped" me in the kitchen with all my recent cooking.
Sunny spent a lot of time reflecting on the pug life and having some deep thoughts (mainly about food).
Sunny also practiced her modeling poses.

And we had some fun with her pug toys.

And I gave Sunny a few baths, which she HATED. I got plenty of sad looks and stink eye from the little stinker both pre-bath...

and post-bath.
Sunny acted as an excellent muse for my pug drawings. You can see more at my other blog, Bah Humpug
My sister sent me an adorable pug key cover, which Sunny helped to model.
And Sunny continued her deep love for sucking all the fur off her toys. I think some are going to be due for retirement soon.

And we had a lot of laughs along the way!
Phew, that was a long post. Hope you enjoyed all of our photos and we wish you pugs and kisses!
